Bishop & Douch – Funny Or Die

Terry Lane - Wednesday 15.04.09, 15:18pm

James Bishop (23) and Chris Douch (22) are from Oxford. They met while working in the Oxford branch of WH Smith and discovered a shared interest in television writing and comedy.

Bishop & Douch began working together in 2007  by creating a series of online videos for myspace.com/bishopanddouch.

The videos have continued to gain popularity which enabled them to approach Rich Fulcher of The Mighty Boosh, to film a short cameo in one of their videos.

After this, Bishop & Douch got in touch with other comedians such as Sean Lock, Ewen Macintosh (Keith from The Office) Kristen Schaal (Flight of the Conchords) and her partner Kurt Braunohler, who also starred in their online videos.

Then, in March 2008 Bishop & Douch began to perform live. Their first show was at the world famous UCB Theatre in New York. While there they filmed with American comic and Saturday Night Live writer John Mulaney.

Bishop & Douch are now performing live around the country and last year did a full run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. This year they will be perorming a week of shows in New York in July.

They are now producing videos for their website www.funnyordie.co.uk/bishopanddouch and currently working with the in-house team based at Hat Trick Productions led by James Serafinowicz (Big Train, Look Around You, Peter Serafinowicz Show) on a series of exclusive videos for the site.

Here’s the first episode of Hybridology with a guest appearance from Sean Lock (15 Storeys High/8 Out of 10 Cats).

James Bishop and Chris Douch are very funny and destined for big things.
