Michael McIntyre is a relative newcomer to the UK comedy scene, having been nominated for Perrier Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Festival in 2003. Since then McIntyre has worked continuously, selling out live shows across the UK and grabbing attention on his many appearances on TV shows such as Have I got News For You, The Royal Variety Performance and perhaps most importantly, twice on BBC’s ‘Live’ At The Apollo.

His DVD has become the fastest selling debut stand-up DVD of all time.

McIntyre is a well presented, well spoken comedian who blends his own brand of observational comedy in to everyday life and news events. One of my personal favourites being his take on the terrorist attack on Glasgow Airport as seen in this clip from ‘Live’ at the Apollo:

Michael McIntyre can currently be seen on BBC tv hosting a show on Saturday nights , called Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, a replacement for the outgoing ‘Live’ at the Apollo. McIntyre takes over from Jack Dee as resident comedian and compere of the show that tours around UK theatre’s, other than the Apollo.

Each of the six Comedy Roadshow’s will feature a routine by McIntyre, the introduction of three stand up comedians new to prime time tv and will finish with a different headline act at each venue.

McIntyre begins a massive UK tour in September-starting in Cardiff for four nights from the 21st and finishing up at London’s O2 Arena on 17th November. The comedian has promised a brand new show for The Michael McIntyre UK Tour 2009, or the Arena Tour as he proudly advertises it.

The Michael McIntyre UK Tour 2009 is one of many outstanding comedy shows in the UK this year, others including Ricky Gervais, Eddie Izzard and Jimmy Carr.
