Spike Milligan – The Irish O’lympics

Some of Spike Milligan’s sketches could very easily been seen a racist today, though this Irish O’lympics sketch though suggesting all Irish people are stupid, is surely harmless and cannot been taken too seriously.

I’m not sure when this sketch dates from but I am guessing the late 1960’s. I’m not sure which came first, but it’s very similar to Monty Python’s Upper Class Twit Of The Year sketch.

Spike Milligan was a true comic genius, though his sketch shows could be very hit or miss

The Q series had many magical moments and in hidsight looks anarchic and insane. The Idiot Scouts is one my favourites.
